Trunk or Treat 2015 was a scary good time for Purdy families! Over 20 decorated trunks were on hand to pass out candy, scare and entertain the kids, including 2 tow trucks from Town and Country towing and a tented booth from our amazing event sponsor, Better Properties NW real estate agent Ben Lieurance.
Close to 14,000 pieces of candy were given out during the event while the kids checked out and voted for their favorite decorated trunk of the night. We lucked out with a dry clear night, but people were able to get out of the cold and in to the gym to enjoy a hot meal or cookies for sale by the 5th Grade. The 5th Grade was able to raise over $850 that will go to supporting programs like JA Biztown and Dancing Classrooms.
The winners trophy was presented to the Star Wars themed trunk decorated by a team consisting of first grade teacher Mr. Cleary, librarian Mrs. Cook and parent and school volunteer Joan Webster. Their winning trunk included an inflatable death star and a video screen projecting the video game Just Dance Star Wars edition, amongst other items. Honorable mentions also go to the Bellamy trunk, the Allen trunk and of course the Rivera/Lantz trunk. A HUGE THANK YOU goes out to ALL of our participants, we could not have done it without you! Your time, effort and enthusiasm is appreciated by all of us!!
The Trunk or Treat committee head would also like to particularly thank the amazing volunteer students we had from Peninsula High School and Harbor Ridge Middle School.
Thank you Better Properties NW for sponsoring this event with Purdy PTA. We appreciate your partnership in making Purdy Elementary great.
