For over ten years, the primary fundraiser for the Purdy PTA has been the bi-annual Auction. This school year, the PTA goal is to raise $100,000 through the PTA “Under the Sea” Auction on March 28th, 2026 at Canterwood Golf & Country Club to fund programming for the next two years. - Volunteer on the night of the auction, March 28th! Tickets to the auction are already sold out, but if you sign up for a volunteer time slot, you will get a free ticket to the auction (including dinner and a bidder number) to enjoy the rest of the event before/after your volunteer time. Volunteers are most-needed for the second shift from 7:30-11 pm. Duties may include closing out silent auction items, inputting data, checking guests out, and helping with clean up.
- Donate wine! We are seeking wine valued at $30 or more. Donated bottles will be used for our popular wine pull fundraiser at the auction. Every bottle helps!

- Donate… other items! Does your family or friend own a local business? Are you an artist or builder who makes custom goods? If you are interested in contributing an item, a basket or a gift certificate to our fundraising auction, we love to feature local business and locally-made items!

- Contribute to your students’ classroom basket or art project! Each class at Purdy Elementary School puts together a themed basket and a “made for auction” item for the big night. If you have a student at Purdy, we encourage you to help out with their classroom basket! (coordinated by the designated classroom parents)
If you’re not able to participate in any of the ways above, we are always looking to grow our PTA and invite you to join us! Many of the current PTA members have students in 5th grade and will be moving on after this year. Join us on February 28th for the 5th Grade Camp Fundraiser at Wet Coast Brewing Company

Join us on Saturday, February 28th at Wet Coast Brewing Company in Gig Harbor to support our Purdy PTA 5th Grade Camp Fundraiser. Every pint poured from from 12-9 pm helps send Purdy Elementary’s 5th graders to Camp Seymour. Come on out for fun, food truck, and a raffle!
“Red Riding Hood” is Coming to Purdy Elementary in February 2026!

We’re excited to share that Missoula Children’s Theatre will be returning to Purdy in early February with a production of Red Riding Hood. This year, Missoula will be holding tryouts, and there will be 50-60 available spots for students to participate. If your child is interested in trying out, please sign up using the link below. That will be the first step in the process, and additional details will be shared once Missoula arrives and reviews registrations.
A few important reminders:
- Please be sure your child is able to attend all rehearsals and performances before signing up.
- Rehearsals: February 2-6 (3:30-5:30 pm session 1 and 5:45-7:45 pm session 2)
- Performances: Friday, February 6
- 1:35 pm performance for students
- 6:30 pm performance for families and guests
- Specific schedules and expectations will be shared directly by Missoula Children’s Theatre.
This is always a special experience for the students, and we’re looking forward to another fun and memorable week of theatre at Purdy!

To help decrease the cost for students participating in the play, we are seeking one or two host families for the Missoula Theatre from February 1st to February 9th. You’re Invited: Make It Take It 2025
- When? Tuesday, December 2nd or Wednesday, December 3rd from 3:30 – 5:30 pm
- Where? Purdy Elementary Gymnasium
- What? Make It Take It is a cherished, fun event where Purdy students can make hand-made gifts for loved ones. The cost is $15 per student. There are two registration links based on the night you’d like to attend, so please sign up soon—spots are limited and fill quickly. (Kindergartners need to have an adult attend the event with their student to assist with these projects.)
Calling all Volunteers!
The PTA puts in tremendous work to plan this event each year and it would not be possible without our amazing volunteers! There are volunteer shifts available each day from 3-6 pm and we need 25 volunteers for each. Your role as a volunteer may include getting registered students from their classroom to the gym, passing out snack, and helping our creative students make a holiday craft. Penguin Patch Shop!

The PTA is proud and excited to add another fun holiday event for Purdy Students! During the week of December 9th – 13th studentswill have an opportunity to shop for gifts at our Penguin Patch Holiday Shop! The Shop will be located on the stage in the gym during lunch and recess from 11:30 – 12:30. Participation is completely optional. Gifts range in price from 25 cents to $15, and there is something for everyone.
This week, look for a flyer and a budget envelope to come home with your student. You can even make the budget envelope a fun math lesson for your student! Students can have funds to use at the shop with:

- A check inside their envelope (made out to Purdy Elementary PTA – note, no change can be given if paying via check)

Make It Take It 2024!!

Make It Take It is a fabulous annual event presented by the Purdy PTA. Students have the opportunity to make special hand crafted projects that can be gifted to family and friends. The event will be held on December 11th & 12th from 3:30 – 5:30. Kindergarteners must be accompanied by a parent.
